Doug Emhoff's law firm is next. Don't doubt for a moment that one of Trump's most important goals for his second term is to punish his enemies. Remember--it' always first and foremost about him. "The law firm that employs Doug Emhoff, former Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, has learned that it is among the next firms that Mr. Trump plans to use his power to punish, according to four people briefed on the matter. The firm, Willkie Farr & Gallagher, also employs a top investigator for the congressional committee that documented President Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, and a litigator who spearheaded a lawsuit that two Georgia election workers brought against Rudolph W. Giuliani. Mr. Giuliani was found in that case to have defamed the women as he tried to help Mr. Trump overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, and was ordered to pay the women $148 million." Doug Emhoff's Law Firm is Said to Be Trump's Next Target https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/us/politics/trump-law-firm-doug-emhoff-wilkie-farr-gallagher.html
Shows Trump has zero loyalty. Willkie was the firm that gave him his MLTN (More Likely Than Not) Letter related to losses incurred with respect to the bankruptcy of one of his casinos back in the 90s. No other firm would touch it, including the firm I worked for in NYC at the time. It permitted him billions in NOL carry-forwards. I guess the lesson is that don't expect anything you do for Trump to curry lasting favor.
