I don’t get it. How is this “petty?”  He received government protection while doing his duty and for 2 years after retiring.  [b]That’s plenty[/b].  The level of threats he receives don’t rise to level of needing secret service indefinitely.  It’s not like Russian double agents are out to
poison him.  His threats are likely (if anything) limited to internet weirdos [/quote]

None of us here are in a position to evaluate the level of credible threat to him nor the risk to national security it may pose, nor any of the other criteria used to determine whether someone is assigned government-funded security. (Perhaps there are some of those folks here, but they cannot say so, obviously.) I don't know if it's plenty. You don't know if it's plenty. Your basis for declaring that anyway is not the basis used for assigning security. I don't suspect the president is bothered about the reasons, in any case.[/quote]
