I don't know why you would say that.  His last photo is of him clearly sitting down, not curling up or cowering or trying to hide.  He sat on the couch, clearly wounded, and threw a piece of wood at the drone he knew would kill him.

LOL he was refusing to agree to the latest ceasefire talks because he was trying to negative his own exit from Gaza. He spent ten months underground surrounding himself with Israeli hostages as human shields, until the hostages were so starved and weak to move as often as he needed to, so he had them killed. When he was killed, he was found dead with fake IDs (stating he was a UNWRA worker) and 10k in cash, presumably trying to escape. Some fearless leader of your terrorist cult.
