Um... she wasn't speaking in her Australian accent.  It was supposed to be British but kept lapsing into some other kind of accent, maybe "continental."  Very distracting.  [/quote]

Well, she’s Australian and sounded Australian part of the time and American at other parts.

Her accent was definitely not the same as her “brother” in the movie as he used “lower class” phrases like “innit.”

If the character decided to change her accent after marrying the blue blood, she’d go with a posh English accent or maybe an American one to erase the “lower class” English accent. That’s what would make sense to be accepted by society people.
