It’s not named for Ike. It’s named for a guy whose claim to fame is overthrowing  elected governments in places like Iran— that’s worked out really well for us. 🙄[/quote]

Actually the overthrow of Mohammad Mosaddegh worked out well for the US and Iran.  Under Shah Reza Pahlavi's White Revolution, Iran was doing very well playing the Russians off the United States and educating women.  It all went to pieces when the Shah pushed the mullahs too far and they left Qom to establish a theocracy. The mullahs were smart enough to stop educating Iranian women and now about 75% of the physicians in Iran are women and they work in many other professional fields.  If there is ever a revolution in Iran, it will be a Pink Revolution led by women sick and tired of wearing chadors.  [/quote]
