People don’t like Amal the same reason they don’t like SJP (long midface). There’s this trend that favors shorter faces (which I personally don’t get, but it’s what it is).

Yes, people are weird about the long nose and planes on the sides of the face (which in Amal's case are under stunning cheekbones). I think it has to do with beauty standards currently that favor women who look like children (gross) and people perceive these features as "masculine" even though this is actually classical features in art that would be favored in women and men.

I think Amal is beautiful and SJP is striking (the rest of her features are not as beautiful and expressive as Amal's). But many people prefer a rounder, more childlike face on even a middle aged woman (think Salma Hayek, or Reese Witherspoon). It's interesting to me.[/quote]
