Feds are not guaranteed promotions every year. Our step increases aren’t even every year (unless you’re a step 1-3 I think? Maybe those are every 2 years).

Also, not every pay scale has step increases and those that do are only every year for a few years and then they’re every 2 years and THEN every 3 years. And then they stop completely unless you get promoted. Oh. And then at [b]15-10[/b] they stop altogether for the rest of your career, if you ever even make it to that level.

But, you’re right. We should just never get raises. It’s unconscionable that we expect to make enough money to live off.

Do you really really want people working for the government who are willing to make nothing? Is that the caliber of employee you want protecting you?
