When we first moved here we lived three blocks from the Maryland border. Like all of our neighbors, we did most of our shopping for groceries, etc. In Maryland. The neighborhood listerve was full of complaints about how people from Maryland dared drive through our neighborhood, how badly they drove in general, how much crime they brought with them, how we should not have any businesses near our neighborhood because it might encourage more of them to come. And then there was the obsession about Maryland people attending DC schools.... [/quote]
