What happened to St. Albans? It used to be close. https://patch.com/district-columbia/washingtondc/2022-national-merit-semifinalists-named-washington-dc
OP- nothing happened. The selection process starts with taking the PSAT though in fall of Junior year. To a family, in October or 2020 most skipped the test due to Covid. Think about it, would you have wanted your healthy, unvaccinated teen to sit in a room for 4 hours in a mask JUST SO they could be a National Merit blah, blah. It seems some schools encouraged that and other families thought it just wasn't worth it. There were also lots of seats on airplanes and empty hotels. Many of us passed on those as well. Congrats to all the kids who did well and, especially to their parents who can read their child's name in WAPO !!!
