[/quote] This is the issue with comparing schools at the undergraduate level. Cornell far excels over Georgetown, Emory and WashU in engineering. Georgetown is very good for humanities/international relations. Emory and WashU aren't particularly known for anything other than their medical schools, which is very unrelated to undergraduates (versus graduate departments that have direct impact on undergrads through professors). Not sure what "level" means here, but generally Brown and Dartmouth's association with the Ivies give them more national and international cachet - deserved or not - than Hopkins or Northwestern. For undergraduate humanities education, they tend to be stronger as well. [/quote]
