From a December ACPS Express:  "Please know that we are committed to working with families throughout this transition process knowing that circumstances may change and families may need to adjust their choice in the future. "

From another December ACPS Express: "Please take a moment to share with us your choice as they stand today regarding your student(s) intention to return to our classrooms beginning in January 2021. We know things may change as the progression of COVID-19 changes and we understand that what you indicate today may differ when the time comes to reopen. "

Hutchings said at a SB meeting on 12/3: "WE WANT TO WORK WITH OUR FAMILIES, WE KNOW THERE ARE SITUATIONS THAT CAN HAPPEN BETWEEN NOW AND A MONTH FROM NOW. WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITH OUR INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES."

These statements from December just highlight the profound issues ACPS has with their communication strategy (if it can ever be called that) and it's communication team.  A simple acknowledgement of past statements and an explanation of why they can no longer follow through on them would have gone a long way.  But it's too late for that.
