Again, this was never about whether HS soccer is comparable to club. It is not. But you are being ridiculous is you are arguing that HS-aged girls don't like playing HS. If you interviewed every player on the USWNT, I bet each one would are that they really enjoyed HS. Again, if HS was such a chore, they would do it.
Also, for most of the current WNT ECNL was not an option and for others it was developing and growing as league in its own right. But when ECNL was the only National league game in town for girls the coaches hated and discouraged High School play. Again, since DA came along on the girls side ECNL saw allowing HS to be a differentiation for players to choose them over DA. It is marketing. It is odd that ECNL suddenly champions another organizations soccer suddenly and all of you Glory Day's High School fans just eat it up.
We get it. You didn't make your high school sports teams. We all sympathize, but no need to take your frustration out on some kids who want to play soccer.
There is no frustration. People are pointing out the truth. Things change and playing HS soccer is simply not much of an achievement. It isn't the kids fault, it is how it is set up by athletic associations. HS football, basketball are still elite in that colleges will actively recruit from those games, especially football. Travel basketball is muddying the waters for basketball recruitment. But colleges do not recruit from HS soccer. Local colleges may go to a HS game to see a kid they have already tracked through club but HS soccer is just not a part of the filtering process anymore. The quality is just plain bad because there is just no time to work with he kids and there is no roster stability.
