This isn't about the quality of HS soccer. This is about the HS experience. Kids give up on true developmemt for the opportunity to play for their team. I can't think of an ECNL player who doesn't play HS. Post Player of the year is a junior who playa ECNL at MUFC. I am sure shw is strong enouh to play for DA but clearly enjoys HS. BTW, college soccer is a joke as well yet people still play.
Please get a clue.

But you are being ridiculous is you are arguing that HS-aged girls don't like playing HS. If you interviewed every player on the USWNT, I bet each one would are that they really enjoyed HS.
Again, if HS was such a chore, they would do it.
Also, for most of the current WNT ECNL was not an option and for others it was developing and growing as league in its own right. But when ECNL was the only National league game in town for girls the coaches hated and discouraged High School play.
Again, since DA came along on the girls side ECNL saw allowing HS to be a differentiation for players to choose them over DA. It is marketing. It is odd that ECNL suddenly champions another organizations soccer suddenly and all of you Glory Day's High School fans just eat it up.
We get it. You didn't make your high school sports teams. We all sympathize, but no need to take your frustration out on some kids who want to play soccer.
Calm down Bobby! Only the top 2% are in your dynamic.
DP, but this tactic is so overdone on this board, it's nauseating.
Oh you didn't make your high school team. Oh your kid didn't make the team. Oh your kid doesn't start. Do you even have anything else in your wheelhouse?
And for the record, I made varsity as a freshman onward, and my kid has made and started every team ever tried out for.

Anonymous wrote:I am sorry but you are clueless. My daughter played on a HS with multiple ECNL players going to mostly DIII and a one going to DI. They absolutely enjoyed HS soccer. If they didn't, they would not have played all four years.
HS soccer is horrible compared to club but if girls didn't like it, why would they play. The reality is that they wouldn't ECNL accommodates HS because their players like it. If they didn't, they would play ECNL year around.
I think you are dense.
