I'm a long time reader and don't doubt this at all. I'm not even that concerned that she posted as soon as she did though I'm not sure I would personally have made the same choice. What is rubbing me the wrong way is the picture she took in the hospital...I mean who thinks to take a picture during what is probably the lowest point of your life?
Also a longtime reader and posted upthread that this really threw me. Having been not quite in her shoes but struggled with depression and periodic thoughts of running away/suicide back in college, the picture makes sense to me. I think ppl can sometimes take inspiration from real low points, i.e., look where I was and how low I fell and I never want to go back there again. Certainly I did that myself. It's not like she can just forget that it happened, after all. I'm sure the repercussions for her family and her children in particular are going to be significant. I take her oddly optimistic tone to be an attempt to rally herself to get it together, get help, and NOT do this again. Now, I'm in my late 30s and can't really relate to all this social media/no privacy stuff, but that is part of how she makes her living. I would imagine her fam might want her to put less details online, but who knows? I'm sure they've had these convos among themselves.
