Lovely that our President spent Easter, a holiday celebrating the resurrection of a man who preached radical love, tolerance of immigrants, and the virtues of poverty, to attack a group of people who have broken zero laws in our country. And the fake Christian hypocrites are lapping it up. Jesus - please go ahead and come back now! We are lost.
Jesus walked into the Temple and overturned the money changers tables. Your guilt trip will not work.
Jesus would be walking with those caravan people right up to the border if he were alive today.
What makes you say this? I am interested. He didn’t attempt to bring his disciples to Rome where the standard of living was higher.
Standard of living for a poor immigrant was probably not higher in Rome then in Judea. 45 years later, after the rebellion, when the land was devastated by war, was different - and (in addition to Jews carried off as slaves) there were Jews fleeing Judea. Including to the city of Rome, though to other provinces as well. There were no barriers preventing them from so moving. If anything, Roman policies (persecution in Judea, relative tolerance elsewhere) encouraged Jewish emigration from Judea.
