Giving their key to anyone and everyone, not locking the house (there were windows open so that that Christmas decoration extension cords could go through - can't imagine what their heating bill was like). She told the Whites when she called to call the FBI, so she might have been trying to leverage the power of the other elite folks in town. Also, many people in the house were "victim's advocates" sent by the police - they bought the bagels, and so helpfully cleaned the kitchen which was horrible for any evidence gathering.[/quote]
