They had a combined Herndon/Sterling girl's practice this week for next year's team at Herndon. Sterling girls were told that they all have a spot on next year's team if they were on this year. No idea the turnout. We didn't go since we won't be back next year. [/quote]

We were there. Bottom line, if you're willing to join, you're on the team. Skill don't matter at this point because it's all about the survival of the program/team and not being competitive or a travel team. Many friends were recruited from rec to just come up and make the numbers. It stinks to have to drive further for our kid but she deserves better than 20 random girls put together to play "competitive travel" soccer.[/quote]

What age group was this, and are you on the Sterling or Herndon side?  Does that mean you don't have to show up for the tryouts? We attended the tryouts and there seemed to be enough to fill a team, assuming that the majority of the people were interested in joining.  When we tried out at Sterling, it didn't seem like there were enough people in her age group to make a team, and we never heard anything back after the tryouts.[/quote]
