Herndon does it all. the. time. That's how they keep the boys teams at the high school level.

Skill don't matter at this point because it's all about the survival of the program/team and not being competitive or a travel team. Many friends were recruited from rec to just come up and make the numbers. It stinks to have to drive further for our kid but she deserves better than 20 random girls put together to play "competitive travel" soccer.


They’re putting teenage girls from rec into ECNLRL? Yikes. Do these families know what they’re getting into?

What age group was this, and are you on the Sterling or Herndon side? Does that mean you don't have to show up for the tryouts? We attended the tryouts and there seemed to be enough to fill a team, assuming that the majority of the people were interested in joining. When we tried out at Sterling, it didn't seem like there were enough people in her age group to make a team, and we never heard anything back after the tryouts.

But coaches get red cards at this level pretty frequently (I think I've seen at least 3 in the past couple of years at my DC's games).


2012G is a Sterling coach. What happened at the game?

That coach is very hot headed, wouldn’t be the first game he got thrown out of.


We weren't at the game, but this doesn't surprise me one bit. Does anyone know what happened at the game? I was wondering why the score never posted when the game was played.
