But does that dynamic map onto workplace relationships?
Actors seem to act more familiar with each other than typical co-workers. They're filming intimate scenes, lines get blurred... I don't think it tracks with normal workplaces. I keep thinking back to the Anora actress saying she didn't want an Intimacy Coordinator and totally loved the director and his wife acting out the sex scenes for her... maybe it's true... my read on it is the complete opposite (she knows how f'cked up it is and overcompensates how great it was). I can totally see a young actress feeling uncomfortable and the director making a big deal about how important it is to make everyone feel safe because he's a feminist, and her texting him that she felt soooo safe when it was the opposite. I'm not saying that's what happened. I'm just saying I don't assume that text to Baldoni is the sum total of what happened. That's one text, there's also going to be her communications with Lively and with other people (especially if she texted her actual family and friends about it, those might be closer to her real thoughts) and testimony from people who were on set. There are so many zigzags in this case, we could all be completely shocked when we actually learn more.
