My spouse died 8 months ago and I cannot fathom dating anyone right now. At all. The thought of it is repugnant. Most men seem to move on more quickly, as the can't seem to be alone.
I was an adult when my mother passed away. My father was having an affair with a married woman before we even buried her ashes. I cannot describe the emotional pain it caused me. That ruined our relationship. We haven't spoken for 10 years.
OP here. That's really sad. I had a friend tell me his mother died when he was in HS. His dad remarried almost immediately. He didn't like it at the time, but fortunately, it didn't ruin his relationship. Now as an adult, he completely understands his father's perspective. It's too bad more people can't/won't develop a more mature perspective in adulthood instead of allowing the fact they could not control their parents lives as teens keep them apart.
