Why is it "desperate" to hold the opinion that it is a hate crime?  It's not exactly farfetched given the statements from the neighbors, his web site, and the fact that they were shot in the head, not in the parking lot but in their apartment.[/quote]

- because people on this site and others started screaming HATECRIME! before any of the facts were known - other than the murder suspect was white and two of the victims dressed modestly.

You are being misleading about the known facts. Beyond being white, the suspect also demonstrated through his Facebook postings that he is extremely hostile to religions and those who outwardly express their religions. The women did not only "dress modestly", but dressed in a manner that is identifiably Muslim. One of the victims previously told her father that she felt the suspect hated them because of who they were. In the end, it could be that none of this was a factor in the murders (though I suspect it was). However, to suggest that such a linkage is "far-fetched" requires a certain intentional obtuseness.
