And Giant and Safeway get their produce from local Farmer John? I don't get your logic.
Not saying that..but most people that shop at Giant and Safeway know the produce is not coming from a small farm. Whole Foods does an excellent job swaying consumers to think their produce is as natural and fresh as if you grew it yourself. People automatically assume that paying more means better quality. I was in Dean and Deluca a few weeks ago doing research and had to laugh that they were selling a jar of imported olives from Greece for $17. My neighbor is Greek and she was with me at the time and she told me that particular brand sells for a couple dollars in Greece and no one would be caught dead with it on their table. How about Britax car seats? All carseats have to meet minimum government standards, but for some reason, due to their excellent marketing, everyone thinks they make the best car seat. In reality, they have the second highest percentage (as a brand) of recalls as other car seats. I know that there are always going to be manufacturing glitches and there is no such thing as the perfectly safe product, but to automatically assume that this partcular brand is the best out there is just wrong...wrong..wrong! britax does not do a lot of marketing...they get a ton of it through word of mouth. and free marketing is the best marketing out there!
