Q: I haven't seen anything about OOB feeder rights. The first page, before the map, talks about grandfathering, but I don't see anything on a right to continue in a feeder stream. I'm guessing it's still a "right."
The paragraph addressing feeder rights is pretty straightforward. Children in Grades 6, 7 & 8 will have the option to feed to the current HS, as will their sibs.
No, this is different (I think). That sentence pertains to a child who was IB for, say, Wilson but is no longer IB for Wilson. I'm asking about the child who was never IB for Wilson but gained admittance to, say, Hardy, or Hearst. Could they continue on to Wilson? Am I missing something? And the sib preference extends only so long as a sib is in that school. (That's a sensible limitation.)
As I read the text, if your child is attending Hardy or Deal in 2014-15 , s/he will have the ability to continue on to Wilson, regardless of IB or OOB status at the middle or high school level. I expect that additional materials forthcoming from the DME will make this clear.
