Looks like a lot of posters didn't make a Madlax team after recent tryouts.
from the look at all your posts you are either (a) cabell maddux (b) a madlax player, (c) childless person, otherwise you would have the mental maturity to understand how important these topics are. I live in ellicott city and have 3 in private baltimore hs. Our club hasn't lost to madlax in sometime. I have a nephew that plays for Gonzaga and the word from the hs dc coaches is to stay away from madlax. This will have a longtime effect on his recruiting. Besides once you get to hs there are several club teams that are far better choices than madlax. What madlax excels at is having a giant middle school program, and save the email to his player, my hats off to him for that. it seems like you will likely stay with the madlax program, but my advice to you is, once you get into hs make a new choice.
That's funny. If I believed everything my nephew said I wouldn't leave my house for fear of being attacked by aliens. This post is complete bull and utter nonsense.
Actually I think it was one of the more reasonable posts from someone who does not support madlax. I do wonder which club his kids are on though, as madlax beat both crabs and breakers this summer - usually the two best baltimore club teams (not at every age group mind you, and perhaps he is referring only to a specific age group and not club wide success). I don't agree with all the poster wrote, but at least it was somewhat thoughtful, compared to the hysterical and venomous nonsense some have posted. My son was madlax U13 this summer and has just moved up to U15. Based on recent tryouts, his team has gotten stronger. The vast majority, perhaps even all, of the strong players are back. Plus they have added a few new players, including at least two from other clubs. Something like 80-90 boys tried out at that age group. Presumably those new players are aware of the email and decided to tryout anyway. What this tells me is the madlax still offers a strong product, parents and players are evaluating the club based on all of the relevant information-not just one email presumably written in a heated moment. Also, if you live in cetain portions of northern va, you do not have as many good alternatives as those closer to Baltimore have. I understand VLC has also gained at this age group, and I am looking forward to good competition with those guys as well as the always strong crabs, breakers, hawks, Arden, etc. The madlax families are well beyond the email controversy. Perhaps the haters, whomhave a variety of motives, also can move on now. Instead of jawboning, go throw with your kid so they can improve in the game they love.
