"Fees are $380 for cognitive assessment and $700 for cognitive and achievement assessment" WISC test is cognitive ($380) or cognitive and achievement assessment ($700) ?
Only the cognitive assessment is necessary for AAP. They're looking for ability testing, not subject matter testing.
Don't know what practice you are quoting (GMU?) but Dr. Diana Dahlgren charges $375 for the WISC and adds-on the Woodcock-Johnson ability test for an additional $75 (for a grand total of $425). She told us that she's had great success using these two in combination, because she can report (hopefully) a high IQ but also advanced academic achievement (for example, she put in our report based on the WJ that our 2nd grader is reading more than 4 grade levels ahead). That is powerful fodder on appeal.
