I know a high powered career woman who did this. I was in a casual relationship with her. I wanted our relationship to be more serious. Unfortunately for me, she eventually chose a very dumb, blue collar guy who made almost no money. She said she didn't like those things sometimes, but she also clearly likes the fact that she could dominate him. He was athletic and good looking but also extremely nice and did lots of acts of service at a level nobody with a professional job would ever do. He also never complained about her mood swings.[/quote]

Too often in a relationship with someone who is more equal professionally and financially, it is the woman who is going to be forced to give up or downshift her career. As a result, I know a number of successful women who deliberately decided to date and marry someone whose career would not compete with theirs. [/quote]
