Know several Hoya friends and family who haven’t contributed in a long time. Not happy with drift from its Catholic heritage.
Given that it is rooted in Jesuit theology, being upset about a so-called drift is really a them problem.
Georgetown openly states on campus tours that they are not into that Catholic stuff. They also hide their Catholic roots on their website and social media. You have to look very attentively to find any genuine mention of Catholicism from Georgetown University. Georgetown is fine as a secular university. They are no longer a Catholic university. The Jesuits made a conscious decision to dump the Faith at Georgetown many years ago, and succeeded quite well. People go to Georgetown because it has strong (secular) programs. They no longer go for a Catholic university educstion or community, because Georgetown doesn't want Catholic education or even Catholic culture and heritage.
You're confusing Jesuit with vanilla Catholic. Not the same thing.
