Actually, you should provide a history since where are you from is different than where you currently live. You can't just move somewhere and start claiming that localities cachet for yourself. It needs to be earned.[/quote]  I was born up north and lived in that state for 8 years.  I then moved overseas for 5 years.  I then moved back to the US to the Midwest for 4 years, and then I moved to a far southern state for 3 years.  At 20 I moved to DC. I'm 55 now. When people ask me where I'm from I say I was born in [up north state], but I've lived in DC my whole adult life. I never mention the town where I was born unless somebody asks; unless you're familiar with that state, you wouldn't know the town.[/quote]
