Wow, so instead of letting people take the deal, they are forcing everyone to be fired. Sad. You know they will set the bar high and expect everyone to be in 5 days a week. My relative was looking forward to the 8 months paid admin leave and then retiring. Now they will need just to retire immediately. Hopefully its just a pause but if it does get blocked It feels like they stole a great deal from a lot of people.
No, because the deal was never going to be honored anyway. A few fries short of a Happy Meal, aren't you? But then all MAGA posters are...
You know divisive crap like this is why Dems lost?
Democrats are very nice people: they want to include everyone (to a fault, IMO). It's not their fault that Fox News is allowed to lie on air 24/7 and has a death grip on much of people's news source.
+1 That's rich...lectures on divisiveness coming from the right.
DP. Sorry your "Fork" was so stupid that effectively nobody took it. Do better.
The people I know who took it are past retirement age and are doing a VERA on top of it, or were looking to change careers and move, and thought "eh, what do I have to lose?". System wide, if we believe the published number, there may be 50K employees who took it, about 2.5% of the workforce, far from the 5-10% they were hoping for.
Same here. A normal year 70,000 employees retire. This offer is just gonna give those 70,000 employees an eight month vacation before it plus the 240 hours they have plus all the leave. They earned between now and September. It’s like the stupidest offer in the world. It saves nobody money. It doesn’t even get rid of people that were not gonna quit anyway. What do they think they’re doing? He’s so used to working with fickle 22-year-olds that he thought a whole bunch of people were gonna be like yahoo I’m gonna take an eight month vacation. What?
But it would have been good PR, which is all that matters.
