Hello Potomac Marlins, I wanted to inquire if the times from the recent meeting have been uploaded to the SWIMS 3.0 database on USA Swimming. We're eager to review the official times and ensure they are recorded in the national system. Could you please confirm if this has been done, or provide an update on when we might expect to see them? Thank you for your assistance.
Being polite doesn't make you sound any less insane. The Marlins submitted the meet files to PVS, the LSC. The times are both in your swimmers record with their team, on the PVS website, and in meet mobile. The only person who can submit times to SWIMS is the LSC times officer. Incidentally the current PVS times officer happens to be the meet director for the NCAP invitational that's going on right now- she's a little busy. I can't imagine a legitimate reason for why you need these results in SWIMS so quickly- if you have one- you could try emailing the times officer- her contact information is on the PVS website- plus that will help spread the identity of the crazy parent around PVS a little more. The only person on this 11 page thread with a legitimate complaint is the parent who says their kid swam in the A relay and is listed in the B relay. Again- the fix for that is to contact your coach, not complain on DCUM. I can come up with 3 reasons the relay error may have occurred, listed in the most likely to least likely. 1) the coach rearranged the relays, put your kid in the A relay and failed to inform the table. 2) the table received the change in the relay but failed to make the change in the database. 3)the kids reseeded themselves, and nobody noticed. Either way, most people who administer swim stuff care a lot about accuracy and will want to get that fixed. But no matter why the error happened, the request for the fix will need to originate with the coach.
