But the doctors ARE the ones deciding if it is an emergency.

Katie’s Cox doctor didn’t feel it was an emergency. Why is this so hard to understand? SHE went to court against the state because she wanted to be granted a medical exception.

You neglect to mention that in Kate Cox's case, she had already had two C-sections putting her at higher risk of uterine rupture along with being unable to have another child which she desired to do after that pregnancy. Furthermore, she was carrying an infant with trisomy 18 among other complications; carrying trisomy 18 is associated with higher risk of gestational diabetes, preterm delivery to include emergent csection. No, she was not in immediate risk. However, not granting her an abortion did mean increased risk for her of which uterine rupture is significant. I would get an abortion in her shoes without hesitation.
