He sounded frail. His speeches over the past year have all sounded like this. It’s amazing that he thought that he could still run and govern for four more years.
But he doesn't think he can go for four more years. That's the whole point. He has stepped out and passed the torch to a new generation. But a great man.
A great man would have announced their intent not to seek another term in 2023 so that their party would have the opportunity to nominate a normal candidate for the 2024 POTUS race through a competitive process. Thanks to Biden's selfishness, party leaders are appointing a nominee to replace him after he embarrassed the country and party. Biden is a step up from Trump but he is far, far from "great man" territory.
Why won't you stop it? He always said once he received the data and was able to consider it he would make a decision. That's what he did. So saddened by and tired of people like you who flat out refuse to actually listen to what he's saying and watch how he's conducted his life. You are determined to tear us all down.
“How he has conducted his life” ?? He was a hold-out for racial segregation, made innumerable racist comments, and has continuously lied about his accomplishments (or lack of evidence them) along the way.
And over the course of his life, he evolved to the point that he was a champion for civil rights, for HBCU funding, equity on the judicial bench, serving as a VP to the first president of color and president to the first female VP also of color, and then endorsing her for president. Not a bad life lived. Remember, people are influenced by their surroundings. Clearly he wasn't exposed to a life of diversity in his younger years, but then again, that would have been 1950's Scranton.
