Covid vaccination. I've had every shot they recommend, 6 to date and I was very down on people who refused to get the shot in that first year. I wasn't sympathetic to the medical workers and others who got fired for their refusal. Now I am very sympathetic and respect anyone's choice. I still think they are wrong but in the beginning, we were told the shot will keep you from getting the virus and end Covid just as we were able to wipe out polio and so many other diseases with vaccination. I've had Covid twice now and we now know it doesn't work at all to prevent it, but probably makes the symptoms less severe if you do come down with Covid. The many people in my life who never got the shot don't seem to prove that out. Most of them have never had Covid, or maybe only once with symptoms no worse than mine. So yes, I've completely changed my mind about other people's personal choices where at first I blamed them for it not going away.
Your opinion of how well something prevents death or serious illness doesn't make vaccination more or less of a personal choice. Vaccinations aren't a personal choice, it's part of living in society. Grow up.
You're insane. It certainly is a personal choice. I chose and will continue to choose to get every updated shot that comes out. But you must have a short memory if you don't recall how this vaccine was sold to us. And yes, we didn't know what we didn't know but now we know, it's barely effective at all-NOT 90%-at preventing a vaccinated person from getting Covid. The un-vaccinated these days are fairing just as well as those who got the shots.
No it’s not a personal choice. They don’t work if enough people don’t get them. This is not a new or hard concept. It’s why they’re required to go to school. Mass vaccination policies are literally humanity changing and medical miracles. And we’ve had them for decades. Studies show the vaccines are super effective - you have no idea how many times you’ve been exposed, you have no idea how much the vaccines dampened the effects and you have no idea about the exposure rates for those without the shots or the severity of their symptoms. But! Good news! There are massive, massive peer reviewed studies that you can go and read that detail with actual statistical evidence, how impressively effective the vaccines were! You don’t need to rely on your incomplete anecdotal recollection! It’s honestly hard to believe there are still people so scientifically illiterate about things that have been accepted for decades - you’re exhibiting a lower understanding of vaccines than your grandparents had! That’s crazy to see such backwards progress!
