You seem unfamiliar with Tinder-era recreational sex among 20-somethings.  Hannah Rosin wrote about hook-up culture among women MBA students.

Professional students understandably choose temporary relationships because they plan to move for careers.  But plenty of men and women waste their twenties aimlessly partying or socializing.  There are Bohemian artists and hippies and "failures to launch" with no immediate goals of marriage and children.  The average age of marriage in DC is around 30!  So these young women hook-up with a bunch of fun young guys who don't want relationships either.  Then they appreciate a cool older man who treats them well.  These women routinely reject young nerds who seek relationships.  There are worse fates than dating an older man.[/quote]
