Good grief, BASIS burns through teachers like crazy, particularly capable STEM middle school instructors.  DCPS pays better and doesn't demand as much from teachers in the highest-performing programs.  Of course the odd teacher bails from BASIS to DCPS.  What else can inveterate BASIS boosters deny?  I've lost track. [/quote]

Dumb.

I can think of a number of teachers at BASIS that came from DCPS schools.

I can also think of one who left BASIS for a private school and then returned to BASIS.

Generally, the kids at BASIS are smart and pretty well-behaved.  I'm not really interested in teaching below-grade level kids and constantly breaking up fights.[/quote]
