I really dislike these threads that imply that there is only one choice for girls to wear.  There's not, and the people that buy into that are really problematic.  If girls affirmatively choose the skin tight, riding up your butt all night dresses because they just love that look, that's fine -- but if they feel cornered into buying that because they thing that's what everyone is wearing and if they wear something else, everyone will think they are a dork or a prude --- well, that's problematic.  And it makes me wonder who is pushing that narrative to girls who are too young to have the self-confidence to choose differently.  (I do think it's a big driver behind the trend of girls wearing menswear to HoCo/Prom....its one way out of the uniform of super tight/super short/super low-cut.)[/quote]
