OP here. Wow. You let your 2yo pick what she wears? I wonder who will be ruling your house when she turns 16...
Not the PP but another mom of a 2yo boy who now must pick what he wears. I enjoyed dressing him for a while, but now he's in a serious independent phase where he must dress like an athlete. So I don't approve, but you have to pick your battles--no real harm in letting him express himself in this way. I'll mourn for all the cute clothes with tags that he'll never wear (at least not while he's in this phase), but maybe someone else will wear them. As for the OP, all this is just ridiculous. If you enjoy the clothes your kids wear, and they do too, then don't worry what others say. Say thanks for the compliments, and tell them you love a great deal. But don't congratulate yourself on the brands you can or can't afford--it may be perceived as gauche depending on your social circle. I've been known to splurge on some stuff too, but now that my kid dresses himself like an athlete/hobo, I'm focusing on what's really important--he's happy, feels independent, and I'm not sweating the small stuff.
