Anonymous wrote:OP. your daughter's clothes are cute. It may not be everyone's style. But those who had to use half a dozen nasty words to insult your style are clearly mentally disturbed. Yes , they are the ones who care about the labels. Otherwise why bother puking out so much anger about a set of toddler's clothes? You need to stop responding to the posters and let this thread die. People are sensitive about price tags, even if they deny it. If they don't care, this thread will never be this long.

The lady talking about it had her grandson in an outfit saying "daddy's little monkey" [insert eye roll here]
I paid $11 for the top and$12 for the shorts. Do people really care that much about what other kids wear? Wow!
That is seriously ugly. Much like you for caring so much about the labels and image.
It's not ugly. The bottom is fine, the top is overdone.
Overdone? A white top with a embroidered strawberry on the corner is overdone? I just hope you're not the mom with the kid in spiderman Tshirt.
It's overdone (embroidery + fruit + elaborate shape), but especially so in combination with the bottom. If you combined it with jeans or some other dressed-down bottom, it would be better. The bottom is better.
And, no I am not a mom with the kid in Spiderman T-shirt though you are making too much of that. My kid in all likelihood is dressed better than yours (and more expensive, btw - I would rather pay full price a well-made piece that goes with a lot of different thing than buy loads of crap on sale).
OP here. I never think about your kids or how much you pay for their clothes when I pick my kids' clothes so you can relax. It's not a contest. This is not what the thread is about. My question was what to respond when people point out the price tag on the clothes my children wear. I think you missed it.[/quote
It's ugly (as has been pointed out), prissy, pretentious, and cheap. I'm sure you put bows/flowers/headbands in her hair to dial it up another absurd notch. Nobody cares how much it costs , and you're posting here so you can brag while patting yourself on the back on your exquisite **coughcough** taste in clothing. You seriously need to find a hobby other than dressing your daughter in unappealing, overembellished clothing that is unlikely to be comfortable.

Because a toddler knows not to have fun in white? Because veryone knows you can't have messy fun while wearing white? I try to keep up but now I'm really confused.

My guess would be that anyone putting their grandchild in a "daddy's little monkey" shirt probably wouldn't notice what your kid was wearing, let alone have any clue as to the brand name or price.
Yep. That would be me. Still trying to figure it out after six pages. Cute outfit for your DD though. I always thought clothes at these stores are too preppy for me. Anyways, my DD started rejecting my clothin choices for her beginning at 2 years, so although her jeans fit from the prior winter, she would have noting to do with them.
Wow. You let your 2yo pick what she wears? I wonder who will be ruling your house when she turns 16...

Your questions has been answered MANY times over. (My personal favorite is, "Thanks. They have some great sales.")
So why are you STILL posting, OP??

Not the PP but another mom of a 2yo boy who now must pick what he wears. I enjoyed dressing him for a while, but now he's in a serious independent phase where he must dress like an athlete. So I don't approve, but you have to pick your battles--no real harm in letting him express himself in this way. I'll mourn for all the cute clothes with tags that he'll never wear (at least not while he's in this phase), but maybe someone else will wear them.
As for the OP, all this is just ridiculous. If you enjoy the clothes your kids wear, and they do too, then don't worry what others say. Say thanks for the compliments, and tell them you love a great deal. But don't congratulate yourself on the brands you can or can't afford--it may be perceived as gauche depending on your social circle. I've been known to splurge on some stuff too, but now that my kid dresses himself like an athlete/hobo, I'm focusing on what's really important--he's happy, feels independent, and I'm not sweating the small stuff.
