[/quote] There is a program for some specialties at lower grades that promote yearly to the next grade - if the employee meets the performance standard. My agency does this for IT professionals - they go from 7-9-11 over 2 years. But it isn’t automatic; the supervisors have to approve the promotion based on performance. If they didn’t have this program, it would be extremely difficult to retain the IT professionals that we just trained.[/quote]
