You might think it’s “just” 8th grade, but this is what’s important in her life right now. Therefore, teaching her how  to overcome very normal insecurities about it is what will help her have the tools to overcome insecurities later on in life.[/quote]

Oh I’m sure OP will stop at [i]just this one thing[/i] when it comes to getting her child to avoid insecurities or discomfort.  Do you really think a teen that gets the message that she can get out of PE with an unwarranted doctor’s note won’t ask to avoid other requirements in the future and call on mom to help?[/quote]
