People who can't have a conversation without stopping 50 times to check their blackberry.  I get that biglaw associates’ lives are like that at times but when it’s every single time we ever go out and I know for a fact that you’re not that busy, it gets old.

Those who find a way to discuss their kids in every conversation.  I love kids but in an adult setting, if someone at the office that you barely know is talking about work to be done, I think it’s inappropriate to stop them and say “wait -- first I have to tell you Johnny scored 3 goals at soccer, he’s the most amazing athlete, I have NO idea where he gets it” and then appear unhappy when the recipient of this info says “that’s great” without any interest and moves back to the conversation.

Those who find a backhanded way to criticize everything -- i.e. “I had a great time on vacation.  Answer -- well yeah, but you had to go with your parents/siblings/whoever -- you need to develop your personal life.”  Uh -- ok -- thanks.

People who complain constantly, say they want your opinion and then when you give your opinion, they get mad if that's not what they wanted to hear or just ignore you and keep complaning about the same issues over and over bc they just want someone to listen to their venting.[/quote]
