[/quote] DC has plenty of space, it's hardly the most expensive metro area, it's actually pretty affordable unless you expect to have yuppie amenities and niceties of the expensive parts. It's also relatively low density compared with other cities, so there is space to build multi-family to increase density even if there are height restrictions. Developers want to make money, so when they build higher density housing, they build yuppie towers that are $$$, they aren't in business building housing projects, which is what affordable housing is, really. Let's be real here. [/quote]
