I'm not quite sure why someone should be praised as an "inspiration" for accepting their child as they are. Should moms whose children receive a diagnosis of ADD or oppositional defiance disorder or any other "difficult" disorder be lavished with praise and book deals and money for accepting and loving their child anyway? That's the part that I don't get. She's a mom who loves her kids- why does she deserve a medal for loving the child with DS as much as the one without? Loving your kids is the easiest thing in the world, yet people act like she's unlocked some secret mystery and has achieved a higher plane of motherhood or something.[/quote]
