I don't think she is pretentious at all. She has bad days and talks about them; like how she recently miscarried. Her parents are divorced. Her father is gay. Life isn't all roses at the Hampton house. She just prefers to look at the silver lining. I think she is refreshing. She doesn't make me feel bad about myself. She makes me strive a little more to see the good when it's sometimes hidden.

See, OMG, this is why I could never have a blog about my family and be well known for it. Not that what you're saying is creepy, per se, but it would creep ME out if someone saw me at Target getting onto my child and KNEW MY CHILD'S NAME- and personally identified with her because they "knew" her from my blog. I know she makes her living off it and the blog made her famous, but those poor girls are going to have no sense of privacy if they stay in Naples. Every person who ever sees them at Target, a restaurant, etc. is going to know their names and who they are and what they did yesterday.

Not to mention posting on a DC website about. Don't the have web forums in Florida for this kind of thing?

Well, yeah, she got a book deal about how hard it was for her. I'm not quite sure why someone should be praised as an "inspiration" for accepting their child as they are. Should moms whose children receive a diagnosis of ADD or oppositional defiance disorder or any other "difficult" disorder be lavished with praise and book deals and money for accepting and loving their child anyway? That's the part that I don't get. She's a mom who loves her kids- why does she deserve a medal for loving the child with DS as much as the one without? Loving your kids is the easiest thing in the world, yet people act like she's unlocked some secret mystery and has achieved a higher plane of motherhood or something.

I used to read her blog but I don't anymore. The "perfection" became annoyingly unbearable.
