Feed them apple sauce or farina or easily digestible purées really. What do emerging markets or undeveloped countries who do have $100 per carton speciality formula fee their babies?
Those babies die.
+1 Apparently American babies who are not aborted are expendable to dcum. Even wanted babies with loving parents are on the chopping block to dcum. It’s sick.
This is the politics forum. I still don’t fully understand why it’s in this forum, because there is not a political solution to this problem.
Yeah, nobody thinks babies are expendable, but what do you want us to do? Somebody in the other forum suggested that we ask/encourage parents of babies older than 9 or so months transition to cow or other milk to save formula for younger babies and I think that sounds like a pretty good idea. I guess it could be some kind of PSA. But the responses like “That’s not healthy” and “no one would do that” and someone defending buying large amounts of formula at a time make it clear that we as a country are far too selfish and individualistic to help ourselves. So some babies are going to go hungry.
We’re the richest country on earth, of course we can accommodate and lay for everyone’s special diets! Duh.
