Are you really that stupid to think that if a parent had the opportunity to feed their child applesauce or purée they would be crying they their child’s life was in danger due to the lack of specialty formula? If kids have severe metabolic disorders like that in undeveloped countries those kids die. America is the richest country in the world and is supposed to be better than that

Apparently American babies who are not aborted are expendable to dcum.

Even wanted babies with loving parents are on the chopping block to dcum. It’s sick.

This is the politics forum. I still don’t fully understand why it’s in this forum, because there is not a political solution to this problem.

Yeah, nobody thinks babies are expendable, but what do you want us to do?

Somebody in the other forum suggested that we ask/encourage parents of babies older than 9 or so months transition to cow or other milk to save formula for younger babies and I think that sounds like a pretty good idea. I guess it could be some kind of PSA. But the responses like “That’s not healthy” and “no one would do that” and someone defending buying large amounts of formula at a time make it clear that we as a country are far too selfish and individualistic to help ourselves. So some babies are going to go hungry.

That is not true. Non-profit research universities are actually responsible. So is the free sharing of scientific knowledge. Profit and capitalism only burdens scientific discovery with patents, secrecy and manipulation in the name of profit.

Most funding at research universities comes from companies who hope to profit from specific things being researched.

The ones from Mexico and Canada were made at the shut down plant.

As far not believing it could happen in the USA, again, what solution do you offer?
