The fcps website says April 4-5. We haven’t heard otherwise but I am hoping tomorrow. Who is saying it will be tomorrow? Is it speculation or do we have insider intel?
People are claiming insider information, but this is an anonymous board where some have already claimed to have their results too. DC's school just scheduled an informational meeting for Friday morning for parents to get information about staying local or going to the center. I don't think they would do it then if they thought we'd get results tomorrow evening and possibly have freshly upset parents at the meeting asking about the appeal process or complaining their kid didn't get in. Friday is a staff day, which would make Friday evening more on par with their trend of doing it after parents can call to complain. They could have decided sending the notices on April Fools day isn't good and maybe hold them until Mon 4/4. Does anyone know if the central office staff get Spring Break off also?
It wouldn't really make sense to have the meeting if parents didn't already know the results, though. It's a waste of time if parents go to the meeting and then later they find out their kid is not selected.
The poster you replied to here. I agree, but the information about the meeting was sent to the whole class and directed to people who applied for the program with no indication any of us will know yet. It's not a high SES school, but there is an immersion program. From the email it seemed the focus for the meeting would be to explain the two options -- stay at the school with immersion or go to the center for level IV. I don't know if the non-immersion classes are having a meeting tomorrow also. I plan to attend either way because if DC isn't level IV, I think he would be level III and I want to know more about what that program looks like at our school. They may want to encourage parents of kids who get in on appeal to get the information now also.
