It probably says a lot about the location of the school. Meeting on April 1st, probably a high SES school

From where? Results don't come out in the morning.

People are claiming insider information, but this is an anonymous board where some have already claimed to have their results too.
DC's school just scheduled an informational meeting for Friday morning for parents to get information about staying local or going to the center. I don't think they would do it then if they thought we'd get results tomorrow evening and possibly have freshly upset parents at the meeting asking about the appeal process or complaining their kid didn't get in. Friday is a staff day, which would make Friday evening more on par with their trend of doing it after parents can call to complain. They could have decided sending the notices on April Fools day isn't good and maybe hold them until Mon 4/4. Does anyone know if the central office staff get Spring Break off also?
It wouldn't really make sense to have the meeting if parents didn't already know the results, though. It's a waste of time if parents go to the meeting and then later they find out their kid is not selected.

This sounds like an April fools joke.
That kind of makes sense, for those schools with a cruel sense of humor. Knowing how invested parents are in this, call a premature meeting, and then cancel when there are no eligible kids yet. Maybe just leave a sign on the front door: Meeting cancelled due to delay in AAP decisions. . Probably not a way to endear the school admin to the parents though!
