Actually yes, that is probably the reason. I bet they close tomorrow as well so they have now burned through 5 days and can only use one more snow day. Historically APS has closed for other weather events as well or for some other random reasons, so if they don't try and claw back some days, they will end up extending the school year.

AEM in true rich liberal fashion are very upset because they all had travel plans and now this will ruin those. Of course, they threw in "oh and it will be awful for teachers too I guess..."  And they would never, ever stop to consider that working parents had to make alternate arrangements for their kid and can't afford to travel multiple times a year so it actually they catch a break. But of course AEM would be moan anyone who is catching a break at their expense. They apparently don't get enough privilege in their N. Arlington neighborhoods (oh and those one or two people who will chime in, no, they actually live in S. Arlington of course in a SFH neighborhood)  :roll: [/quote]

Hey! That is me lol.  Yup, going to visit my dad for the first time since 2019. I am not upset! I actually said "great" and it was not sarcastic. I think from a student perspective it is great that they go to school then (but get teacher concern).  I would not have chosen to travel at the end of the month if I knew we would have been out this week. But what done is done seeing my dad is important..
