People love this frontier mindset - 'Ooh, it was a HELLISH SNOWSTORM, hellish consequences were inevitable!' C'mon, it was an unusually heavy snowfall for couple of hours, with relatively mild, a few degrees below freezing temperatures. The sh*show aftermath really shouldn't be.
That section of 95 is way over it’s design capacity. It is almost always red on the traffic apps. Just one area near Occoquan is responsible for 1.2 million hours a year of delays. One accident will add 45 minutes delays. A snowstorm will cause a lot more accidents and traffic becomes stop and go. As the temperature dropped the road froze causing more accident and cars lost their traction. A lot of people come on here and say oh in North Dakota we can drive in the snow. There are like 5 people on the road. Put 40,000 cars and trucks on the road and see what happens.
